Chinese Government Scholarship
The Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) is a scholarship programme administered by the China Scholarship Council (CSC). It is aimed at international students and researchers who wish to study or conduct research at Chinese universities.
The aim of the programme is to promote international academic exchange and to attract qualified students from all over the world to study in China.
The scholarship is considered one of the most comprehensive funding programmes worldwide and supports study programmes at all levels – Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, and, in some cases, also language and research programmes.
The CSC scholarship typically includes:
- Full tuition coverage
- Free accommodation or housing allowance
- Monthly stipend for living expenses
- Health insurance
Applications are submitted either through the Chinese embassy in your home country (bilateral programmes) or directly through a Chinese university. If you indicate the Confucius Institute as the recommending institution for the scholarship during the online application process, please also send a separate email to konfuzius-institut@univie.ac.at. Failure to notify us will result in the scholarship being forfeited.
