Chinese Bridge Contest

"Chinese Bridge" is a major international language competition organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Chinese Ministry of Education. The competition is aimed at talented young learners of Chinese who can demonstrate their proficiency in the language and their interest in Chinese culture. The preliminary round in Austria is organized by the Education Department of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Austria and conducted by the Confucius Institutes of the University of Vienna and the University of Graz.

In this competition, learners of Chinese in Austria have the opportunity to showcase their language skills in a short presentation and impress the jury by demonstrating their intercultural competence through an artistic performance (tea art, calligraphy, dance, song, martial arts, etc.). The winners qualify for the final in China, where they have the chance to win further prizes.

The Austrian preliminary round of the competition takes place every year between mid-May and early June. The final in China takes place in October.
